ABOUT FYZAH ISLAM

I’ve always had a passion for cultures and believed in the importance of cultural awareness. During a speaking event in high school, I told my audience how “someday, I hope to join the government working on international affairs.” In an audience of professionals, many were pleasantly surprised that a young Muslim woman would be so eager to join government and policymaking. These beliefs motivated me to become a government and international affairs student at George Mason University. As a global policy student at George Mason, I focus my studies on how international economic policy affects global political and economic development. In addition to an academic interest in global political and economic development, I focus on how these policies affect the nations surrounding the Arabian Peninsula.
