ABOUT FALCO WEHMER
I work at the intersection of policy, industry, and healthcare – with the goal of creating frameworks that enable innovation and improve patient access to modern therapies. For me, it is essential that political decisions are not just abstract, but make a tangible contribution to supply security and the attractiveness of Germany and Europe as locations for healthcare and research. In my role at CSL, I develop and drive political positioning for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland – strategically, across teams, and in direct collaboration with executive and VP-level leadership. Driven by our Promise, I am committed to ensuring that medical progress reaches people. One example is my successful advocacy for the Medical Research Act, which sets new impulses for clinical research in Germany.I bring a strong European perspective: As former Chief of Staff in the European Affairs Committee, I have coordinated policy work at the interface of national and EU legislation, including engagement with the Council of Europe. This experience enables me to translate complex regulatory environments into actionable strategies for business and patient benefit. What drives me: building relationships, creating trust, and making an impact. I bring many years of experience in developing advocacy strategies, building resilient networks, and engaging in dialogue with political decision-makers – up to the ministerial and European level. I lead cross-functional initiatives and coordinate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to anchor public affairs topics effectively.Key focus areas:Gene therapy & reimbursement systemsAMNOG reform & supply sovereigntyPatient centricity & stakeholder engagementEU legislation & Council of Europe policyMedical Research Act & innovation policyAll posts are authored personally and primarily in German.
