Photo Friends is a support organization to the Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection. We sponsor talks from photographers speaking on their work and talks on various LA history topics. We organize exhibits of photographs from the collection (3-4 million images housed at Central Library) and promote the online image archive (approx 110,00+ searchable images). We manage Photo Friends Publications, which publishes books on various LA history topics (such as, Valley Times collection, LA crime, 1984 LA Olympics, individual photographer’s work).
