About Mark E. Fuller

I am a widely experienced research engineer in both industry and academia in chemical and mechanical engineering. I am particularly interested in energy systems and combustion.In parallel to my research work, I have administered Linux systems in my labs and have worked on software development and scripting for data analysis and computational investigations.I have worked as an academic researcher, conducting my doctoral studies at Brown University with guest positions at Argonne National Laboratory and CNRS-ICARE in Orleans, France, followed by postdoctoral positions at RWTH Aachen University and the Technion.I performed experimental and computational investigations of chemical reactions and kinetics relevant to combustion processes and fuels. I have a strong interest in new combustion concepts including low-temperature compression ignition (LTCI) strategies, such as reactivity-controlled CI (RCCI). I am particularly interested in the combustion of oxygenated and nitrogenated species both for bio and renewable fuel efforts as well as fuel additives for RCCI applications.I am also responsible for the design and construction of diaphragmless shock tube for experimental research at Brown University.Prior to my fuels research, I worked full-time in the energy and propulsion group for unmanned and autonomous undersea vehicles at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI, primarily in modeling and analysis of batteries, fuel cells, and thermal engines. I have also held an adjunct appointment in the School of Engineering at Brown University and have been the primary instructor for \"Design of Engines and Turbines.\"I am an active member of the Fedora Linux community, engaged in testing and packaging.Administration has included bare-metal install, networking and file-sharing configuration, managing user accounts, and general support and training for lab group members.
