About Fuead Hasan
I just Defended my Ph.D. in Chemistry and Nanoscale Science at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, my research is rooted in synthetic chemistry and molecular engineering for advanced energy storage systems. My work centers on the design, synthesis, and electrochemical evaluation of redox-active molecules and functional polymers for redox flow batteries and metal-ion batteries. I focus on developing structurally tunable anolytes, catholytes, and polymer-based electrolyte systems, leveraging organic synthesis, functional group modification, and structure-property relationships to control redox potential, solubility, stability, and ion transport. In parallel, I investigate polymer-electrolyte and membrane interactions to enhance ionic conductivity and mitigate crossover in both aqueous and non-aqueous battery platforms. Building upon my master\'s research in high-voltage cathode material synthesis and electrochemistry, I have expanded into the synthesis of redox-active organic frameworks and polymeric systems that bridge molecular design with device-level performance. My long-term objective is to integrate synthetic In/organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and electrochemical engineering to develop scalable, durable, and high-energy-density storage technologies that advance sustainable energy infrastructure.
