As Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Access at Genentech, my focus is driving positive change in the healthcare system so that every patient can access our science, as well as to lead the development of meaningful partnerships, forward-looking pricing, contracting, and distribution strategies, and proactive policy solutions that advance a more equitable and hopeful future for all of those who need our therapies.I\'m grateful to have had career opportunities spanning the healthcare industry, from working for the Governor of Pennsylvania with oversight of Health and Welfare agencies in the Commonwealth; to Chairing the Pennsylvania Employee Benefit Trust, which buys healthcare services including prescription medicines for employees and retirees; to running state and national trade associations and serving in leadership positions at public companies. These experiences as a purchaser, partner, and supplier have afforded me the opportunity to view healthcare delivery in the U.S. more holistically, with the recognition that we all must do our part to lower costs for patients and the government while also preserving America\'s role as the global leader in scientific innovation.
