Responsible for managing the technical compliance of a diverse portfolio of fresh produce suppliers in the UK as well as across the world. Working closely with growers, procurement teams, and technical colleagues to ensure that all suppliers meet the highest standards in food safety, quality, legality, and ethical trade.Key aspects of my role include leading supplier approval, onboarding, and ongoing risk assessments, conducting audits and supporting corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement, managing technical documentation and compliance with customer and industry standards (e.g. BRC, Global GAP, SEDEX), acting as a technical liaison between Barfoots and our suppliers, and feeding this into customer facing teams. As well as supporting sourcing strategies, innovation, and sustainability initiatives with projects such as developing water risk assessments and facilitating change alongside customer and legislative environmental policies.
