About Freni Shah
My journey into lighting design began with a seminar in Mumbai, just weeks before graduating with my degree in Interior Design. Until then, I hadn’t realized that light could be more than just functional, it could shape how we feel, move, and experience space.That moment led me to work at a lighting design firm in India, where I discovered a love for creating visual concepts, exploring how light interacts with materials, and building environments that feel intentional and meaningful.To deepen my understanding, I moved to New York and earned my MFA in Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design. There, I explored not only the technical and architectural side of lighting, but also the art of light, how it evokes emotion, creates atmosphere, and tells stories within a space.Today, I’m excited to contribute to the lighting design industry with curiosity, care, and a collaborative spirit.
