Child & Family Services Manager
Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse
Jan 2023 — Present · Tucson, AZ, US
In my current role as Child & Family Services Manager, I: • Supervise and enhance the day-to-day operations of a team dedicated to providing crisis and support services to survivors of domestic violence and their children across three sites (one is a shelter that provides crisis services and two are based in the community and provide more long-term care). • Collaborate with executive leadership and line staff to develop and implement best-practice trainings and processes to address gender-based violence as a social justice issue and in a way that reflects Emerge’s core organizational values of safety, liberation, responsibility and repair, love, and innovation. • In an additional effort to improve service delivery, develop, implement, and facilitate trainings for direct service staff concerning the stages of change, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed principles of care, strengths-based language and service planning, and harm reduction approaches. • Update program protocols, processes, forms, assessment tools, and other documents to reflect intersectional, trauma-informed, and equity-driven standards of care. Develop specific processes and protocols that take into account the trauma(s) generated by systems such as the Department of Child Safety (DCS); these deliverables are likewise grounded in social justice and harm reduction approaches. • Conduct site visits, observation sessions, unstructured interviews, and organize/facilitate focus groups with line staff and executive leadership to assess the efficacy of program evaluation and development efforts as well as the quality of service provision across involved sites. • Spearhead the development of logic models, SMART goals, data collection and reporting templates, and other monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to strengthen the provision of services to survivors and their families. Draft reports and facilitate in-person and virtual multi-media presentations to share collected and collated data.
