My career has spanned a diversity of technologies and fields in polymer physics. Trained in colloid science and adhesion, I have successfully worked outside my core area to develop polymer films and nonwovens and design processes for transforming them to deliver a consumer benefit. I have led groups of researchers and acted as a technical coach in other assignments. The common theme in my work is to identify the fundamental physics of the material that delivers the desired consumer response via a process outcome. Then in a cost effective and manufacturing friendly manner, use this information to effect a solution. Specialties: Upstream Process Development and Manufacturing Troubleshooting, Adhesion, Polymer Adsorption, Colloids and Polymer Solution Dynamics, Natural Polymer Solution Dynamics, Polymer Rheology and Structure Property Relations, Adhesive Product Formulation and Test Method Development, Modeling and Simulation: CFD and Solid Mechanics, Thermal and Thermal Mechanical Analysis (DSC, TGA, DMA).
