About Frederik Bort

I am Managing Director with KPMG\'s Valuation & Business Modeling Services practice and a member of KPMG\'s Department of Professional Practice (DPP) in New York. In this role I interact with financial reporting standard setters and regulators both on a national and international level, as well as other valuation and accounting firms. I participate in several professional working groups for The Appraisal Foundation and the AICPA where I represent KPMG and support the development of best practice guidance for the valuation profession in regard to financial reporting. I specializes in business and intangible asset valuation services for tax, financial reporting, and M&A purposes and have experience in a wide variety of industries. I have performed purchase price allocations, tax valuations, goodwill impairment tests, financial modeling, EPS accretion-dilution analyses, fresh start accounting, and squeeze out valuations.I have conducted engagements involving valuation valuations for purchase accounting for US-GAAP, IFRS and also HGB (German GAAP). As part of these projects I performed the valuations of the various intangible assets including: customer relationships, non-compete agreements, developed technology, in-process research and development, trademarks, brand names, franchise rights, assembled workforce, proprietary software, leaseholds, license agreements, network affiliation agreements, FCC licenses, retransmission agreements, distribution networks, owned content, program/film rights, backlog, favorable/unfavorable agreements, and patent portfolios.I have extensive experience in business enterprise valuations for transaction, tax purposes, and Squeeze outs. Originally I joined KPMG in 2001 in Stuttgart Germany, later came to the US valuation practice and I am a member of DPP since 2017
