I’ve been building software for over 13 years, and I’ve reached a point where I care more about how a system holds up under pressure than what language it’s written in.My background is a mix of the C#/.NET world and the Ruby on Rails ecosystem. While I’ve spent the last few years deep in the payments domain at Shopify—handling the kind of scale where you\'re processing millions of transactions a day—I see myself as a generalist who specializes in high-stakes, distributed systems. Whether it’s banking integrations, treasury systems, or internal platforms, I like working on the \"plumbing\" that people rely on.As a Staff Engineer, I’ve shifted my focus toward the bigger picture. I spend a lot of my time- Cleaning up the \"hard stuff\": Identifying systemic tech debt and bottlenecks that aren\'t obvious until they become a problem- Setting a direction: Figuring out what our architecture should look like in two years and helping teams actually get there- Mentoring: Helping other senior engineers bridge the gap between \"writing good code\" and \"designing great systems.\"I\'m a pragmatist. I like \"Green Path\" engineering and high standards, but I’m mostly interested in building reliable software that solves real business problems without creating a maintenance nightmare for the team.
