Developing new high temperature resistant engine mount compounds; carry out material testing, prototype moulding and testing of engine mounts.• Working to solve problems arising during the manufacturing process or with the finished product, such as those caused by service failure.• liaising with colleagues in manufacturing, technical and scientific support, purchasing and marketing, in identifying and developing new products.• Supporting the specification, development and introduction of all new rubber compounds, polymer materials & bonding technologies.• Supporting the design, development, commissioning and validation of new compounds, polymeric materials and bonding processes to meet customer programmes, internal targets & potential future applications.• Supporting the compliance & continuous improvement of existing materials to maximise output rates and quality levels and minimise rejects, waste, material usage and labour.• Supporting the development or procurement of new tools, instruments, equipment and techniques (eg, testing, simulation, analysis) to further the understanding and application of polymeric materials, bonding chemistry and moulding processes.
