Deeply concerned about climate change, I help individuals and organizations who share that concern. I believe that affordable data solutions are essential in the fight against climate change. Smart devices—such as soil moisture sensors and cloud-synced infrared cameras—can: • Accelerate climate change mitigation and adaptation across our cities, farms, and businesses • Speed up critical scientific research in universities and research centers That’s why I am currently dedicated to Jericho Lab, which designs and manufactures open-source hardware solutions for farmers, engineers, and researchers. In the future, we will live in a world that blends open-source and proprietary technologies. Much like the game Tetris, today’s proprietary high-tech will become tomorrow’s open-source low-tech. The complexity of open-source tools will continue to grow—eventually reaching MRI machines, satellites, and factories.
