Education Partnerships @The Outward Bound Trust
To fulfil my role at the Outward Bound Trust I have a deep knowledge of our capability; our instructors\' interests and skills, our places and the processes that enable learning to occur. I am also open as a learner to understand government education agendas, our Scottish curriculum, education theory and individual schools\' values and ethos. My job is to find the common language between our capability and the aspiration of the educationalist I am working with. It is this common language that, I believe, increases the impact for the young people we work with. By understanding the learning context for the young person, we can tailor our courses to suit and be inspirational for them. We can help all Scottish young people access our experience and create equity as we have an award winning fundraising team. I can help with funding advice and how you can access this financial support. Each year in Scotland we spend supporting Scottish young people. 86% of all participants received some financial assistance or travel bursary to access Outward Bound courses. We currently work with just over young people aged 10-24 years old in Scotland and our aim in the next five years is to increase this to

ABOUT FREDA FALLON
My main interests are in adventure and learning. I enjoy enthusing other people to take on a new challenge and also having new learning experiences myself. The development that results out of learning through adventure I believe builds confidence, resilience and improves health and well-being. The skills, competencies and strategies learned through adventurous learning can support young people in their future pathways and to push past future challenges they face. I am always willing to explore new opportunities and consider possible links between learning and adventure with others and love understanding and gaining new perspectives. My main objective currently is to help more young people to access Outward Bound experiences. These can be truly life changing and every young person should have the opportunity to gain a hunger for learning and experience the benefits of relishing a challenge.
