I am the Global Head of Contracts for Munich Re F&C (Facultative & Corporate), leading an international team of lawyers who partner closely with underwriting leadership across multiple lines of business, including Property, Casualty, Energy, Engineering, Cyber, and Emerging Risks.My role sits at the intersection of risk, strategy, and execution. I advise on contract structures and insurance policy wordings with a focus on clarity, enforceability, and commercial intent—ensuring that Munich Re can deploy capacity confidently while avoiding unnecessary dispute exposure. I work closely with underwriters and senior stakeholders to translate complex risk into contract language that supports profitable growth and long-term resilience.Before joining Munich Re, I spent over a decade as a U.S. trial lawyer, including serving as a law firm partner, litigating high-stakes insurance and commercial disputes in both state and federal courts. That litigation background informs my approach today: anticipating how contracts perform under stress, not just how they read in theory.In addition to transactional leadership, I regularly advise and train internal teams on evolving legal and regulatory developments affecting the insurance industry from both U.S. and international perspectives. My focus is building trusted legal teams that enable the business to move decisively, responsibly, and competitively in a global market.
