About Fred Sargent
In 1978, when I was at the helm of our family-owned electrical contracting business, we started a new division to add \"service & maintenance\" to our portfolio of construction-related activities. We soon discovered the winning aspects of the electrical service & maintenance business that so clearly set it apart from traditional construction. Achieving better profit margins, assuming far less risk, enjoying recurring revenues, and dealing directly with owners-all these factors make service-related work attractive. Our experience with it, starting decades ago, gave impetus to my continuing devotion towards advancing the development and growth of service & maintenance for the benefit of electrical contractors throughout the country, now through a one-of-a-kind organization, Great Service Forums.
