About Fred Rayworth
I am a technical writer with extensive experience writing industrial maintenance manuals, maintenance software manuals, and Air Force pilot and sensor handbooks. I utilized these skills while working for BTR Sealing Systems, the Las Vegas Valley Water District, and as an Air Force contractor for the Predator UAV training program with first CAE and then Crew Training International. I have 16+ years of experience creating technical maintenance manuals from scratch, and translating incomprehensible technical jargon into plain English. In my various roles, I wrote 220 customized preventive maintenance manuals as well as designed and wrote a gauge calibration program for a rubber manufacturing facility. I wrote user manuals for maintenance software at a large city water utility company. I also storyboarded computer based training modules (CBT) edited and refined testing materials, and translated pilot and sensor notes and technical papers into customized user manuals for the Predator UAV training program. I am currently a medical biller and work extensively with third-party claims. I also write for pleasure and have completed 11 full-length novels (working on 12 and 13), plus over 30 short stories (5 published). One of my novels will be published sometime soon and another is scheduled to be published in a few years. I’m an active member of the Henderson Writer’s Group, and edit novels and short stories for friends and colleagues. My writing skills combined with an extensive knowledge of maintenance, maintenance software, the military and aviation provide outstanding value wherever I work. Specialties: Writing, editing, military and aeronautical jargon, Microsoft Office, maintenance, documentation, curriculum development, multiple choice testing materials.
