ABOUT FRED PURKEY
I am a partner in the Tax Group of McCarthy Tétrault LLP, and am also the National Tax Group Administrative Lead. My practice is focused on income tax issues relating to mergers and acquisitions of public and private corporations, corporate reorganizations, real estate investment trusts, pension funds, financing structures, and private equity funds. I have also advised international corporations on tax matters related to doing business in Canada. I am a Lexpert Leading Lawyer in Corporate Tax in Canada, and I work both in English and in French. Throughout my career, I have frequently spoken on tax matters at both national and international conferences. I also write for various tax publications and have lectured on the subject at the McGill University Law School.
