WORK HISTORY
Assistant General Manager, Economic and Workforce Development @City of Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA, US
As Assistant General Manager, Economic and Workforce Development, I manage operational budget and lead a team of 35 to optimize programming, resource allocation, and service delivery across the City of Los Angeles’s multimillion dollar Economic Development Division, which oversees city-owned real estate, business lending, and business assistance programs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I successfully expanded the team from 19 to 35 employees, fostering a collaborative and supportive culture that drove high engagement and low turnover. I have secured over $50M in ARPA funding to launch and scale initiatives such as LA Optimize, JEDI Zones, Small Business Recovery Grants, the Good Food Zone Program, and the Legacy Business Program. I also operationalized the Legacy Business Program to provide long-standing businesses with resources in digital marketing, technology adoption, succession planning, and continuity. In addition, I secure more than $15M annually in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), supporting 10 Business Source Centers that help create 500+ jobs, launch 300+ businesses, and generate over $24M in small business capital each year.
