ABOUT GARNER FRED HIXSON
Early in my military career, I gained invaluable expertise guiding the development and implementation of enhancements for the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System. In 2015, I returned to my roots as an operations leader, commanding an air support operations squadron at Fort Hood, TX. In 2018, I retired from the Air Force and transitioned to the commercial aviation industry. In 2018, taking a role at Amazon Prime Air, I built safe and compliant mechanisms that supported both our initial Part 135 certification and 44807 exemption issuance, as well as successive iterations of those approvals, utilizing drones we design, build, and operate. Moving to a more strategic role, I supported US Regulatory Affairs team working with our regulatory partners to make drone delivery available to our Amazon customers.Now at Dedrone, our mission is to let good drones fly and keep bad drones out. I am currently Sr TPM for Dedrone\'s Drone as First Responder (DFR) system- Dedrone Beyond- let good drones fly. I am responsible for implementing roadmaps, driving schedules, deployments, issue resolution, acting on customer feedback. Additionally, I support both internal and external customers with regulatory strategies and filings including FAA COAs, BVLOS PAO/PSO waivers, as well FCC licensing of our technologies.
