Establishes program to monitor reliability performance of rail equipment systems against predetermined goals and monitors overall system failures and corrective actions in general to identify critical failure modes. Provides routine, timely and effective engineering analyses and recommendations towards improvement of these systems. Provides assistance to maintenance personnel on reliability issues and corrective actions to improve system performance and attain reliability goals. Coordinates recommendations with engineering initiatives and recommends further initiatives based on reliability and performance analyses. Develops and implements analytical methodologies for reviewing reliability and warranty data and makes recommendations relative to data contained in WMATA maintenance databases. Develops, implements, and monitors effective warranty methodologies and reporting systems to ensure contractors/vendors meet all warranty requirements. Proposes, develops and prepares comprehensive pertinent and necessary reports to apprise management of the status of assigned systems and their reliability and maintainability ratings as they relate to the Authority\'s system goals. Participates on reliability/maintainability field assessment committees and task forces. Provides direction to the Warranty Management Specialist in execution of the warranty management program(s) for rail car and component contract procurements. Supervision of warranty management program may include recommendations for applicant selection, disciplinary actions, grievance resolution, and appropriate training.
