International Mining Specialist, Technical Engineering Advisor and Executive, with a successful track record in the mining industry. Throughout my career, fulfilling various general mine and management positions, I have gained invaluable experience in driving operations, identifying and taking care of engineering and technical pressure-points in a project, starting and setting-up engineering maintenance regimes from recruiting a workforce, implementing CMMS software, to formulating performance targets and KPI’s. I am also experienced in drawing-up annual operating and capital budgets, as well as cultivating productivity in small, mid and large-tier mines. With over 30 years’ experience, I have worked on plants that produces up to 28MTPA in a number of countries, including South Africa, Ghana, DRC, Ivory Coast and Zambia to mention a few, specializing in Gold (underground/CIL and Heap Leach Plants/ Mining Fleet/Infrastructure), Copper (Concentrator/infrastructure), PGM’s (Concentrator/smelter) and Diamonds (underground/process plant/mining fleet/infrastructure). I am highly skilled in encouraging a culture of cost and operational improvement, driving processes and procedures within a project or department to reach company objectives. When it comes to safety measures, I am very strict, in order to create a thriving working-environment for all. Additionally, I have a proven performance history in successfully managing a monthly operating budget of $7-12 million and a sustainable capital budget between $25 -35 million annually. Along with my vast experience in the mining industry, I have successfully built lasting relationships with all stakeholders, through effective communication, dedicated professionalism and working hand-in-hand with a range of multicultural employees. Beyond my defined responsibilities, I enjoy mentoring and leading a team of hardworking individuals, helping them reach their full potential.
