   As a Research Assistant in the Britt Lab at Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Center for Perinatal Research, I support translational investigations into the molecular mechanisms of severe Asthma. Under the mentorship of Dr. Rodney Britt Jr, our lab focuses on understanding the pathophysiology of severe Asthma, with the goal of informing therapeutic strategies for vulnerable populations.My responsibilities span a wide range of molecular biology and cellular techniques, including RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and high-resolution imaging. I also assist in managing transgenic mouse models, conducting tissue harvests, genotyping, and maintaining compliance with IACUC protocols.Beyond benchwork, I contribute to data analysis, literature synthesis, and manuscript preparation, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians. This role has deepened my understanding of developmental biology, respiratory pathology, and the broader implications of bench-to-bedside research in pediatrics.
