About Frank Nieuwenhuizen

Managing teams to research, develop, and deliver innovative technologies that drive product development and fulfill customer needs.• Translating business/stakeholder/client needs into actionable projects and programs.• Creating roadmaps and project plans to maintain focus, mitigate risk, and complete deliverables on time.An engineer with a research background and a sense for business needs, I lead teams to deliver innovations with the right technical capabilities and focus on fulfilling customer needs. I can consolidate technical endeavors into roadmaps, secure stakeholder buy-in, remove ambiguity, and develop innovative, viable solutions and alternatives. Drawing on strong analytical and technical skills, I align stakeholders’ needs and priorities with technical contributions from engineers and scientists. I take a pragmatic, informed approach based on realistic expectations and am not afraid to ask critical questions. As a technical lead, I have delivered projects for major industrial hardware used across the globe, and supported in-field operations. I am exceptionally proud of delivering the Ampelmann N-type system for use in a cold climate environment (down to -18° F /-30° C), which operated seamlessly throughout its first winter without weather-related downtime. As a researcher, I dream up big visions for technologies and innovations. These visions are underpinned by evidence and field data, and point to the next technological breakthrough. From these, I produce action plans aligned with expectations from project stakeholders and engineers. My work on the myCopter European research project was disseminated in media across the globe deliver projects on time, I assess setbacks from different viewpoints, bring structure to the chaos, and define the underlying problem. I am great at prioritizing tasks, identifying the skills required to solve them, and delegating achievable goals and milestones. With these skills, I can turn around struggling projects to achieve on-time completion. By navigating situations with diverse people, personalities, and goals, I bring balance to teams. My aim is to find common ground and present solutions instead of criticisms. I am honest in my assessments and pragmatic in my communications to colleagues and stakeholders.I can help you and your team effectively meet client/stakeholder needs through technology innovation, evaluate challenges from new perspectives, and deliver exceptional results.
