I am a savvy and effective government relations and policy professional with a decade of state and federal advocacy wins for mental health, criminal justice reform, and low income housing. I choose to work for leading organizations with complex needs and missions that are bipartisan and beyond reproach. I could not ask for better, more inspired colleagues in these fields. My government relations approach is simple: make a lot of friends, create an advocacy agenda, help draft legislation, lobby for it, get the job done, thank allies. Repeat. I have worked in the federal government and have led successful advocacy campaigns and lobbied at all levels from local jurisdictions to state legislatures to Congress. I currently manage an outstanding team of legislative and policy professionals and have worked effectively with state contract lobbyists. Sometimes advocacy happens in collaboration with other groups, and sometimes the ask means going it alone. My experience makes me flexible and comfortable recognizing which path is needed and boldly taking it. And I believe clear communication is essential to successful advocacy: the media often reaches out for my view as a subject matter expert, and I am relaxed presenting in front of large conferences to diverse audiences.I am a self-starter who thrives in identifying creative and actionable legislative and policy solutions that help important organizations make the world a little better for vulnerable people.
