ABOUT FRANKIE LEIGH SHELTON
Clinical Research Coordinator II responsible for trial operations and workflow development across UVA\'s women’s cardiovascular portfolio in interventional cardiology and early cardiometabolic risk detection. Trained originally as a clinical nutritionist, I bring over a decade of experience spanning frontline clinical care, healthcare administration, and women’s health. My background includes hands-on clinical research execution as well as executive and program leadership in digital health and women’s health care delivery. Across roles, my work has focused on translating clinical insight and patient-generated data into scalable systems, particularly in prevention, early detection, and sex-specific approaches to cardiovascular disease. I am especially interested in building research and care models that integrate clinical rigor with operational sustainability.I hold a Master of Health Administration and a Fulbright-funded MSc in Entrepreneurship, where my research examined how wearable and hormonal health data can be clinically adopted to improve decision-making, patient engagement, and preventive care models in women’s health.
