About Frank van Lerven
Industry expert in macro-economics and policy making, at the World Bank. Specialising in monetary and fiscal policy - with an environmental and distributional lens - is currently working on integrating climate risks into fiscal, monetary and prudential policy in Europe and the UK. Strong track of record of strategic policy advice, project management and team leadership, coordinating Coalition for Finance Ministers on Climate for the World Bank, running the New Economics Foundation\'s macro-economics programme whilst directing it\'s EU \"fiscal\" re-granting programme. Before joining NEF, worked at the UNDP and then went on to help start-up two prominent European think tanks aimed at reforming monetary and fiscal policy. Well versed in undertaking complicated research and formulating innovative policy solutions - published in renowned academic journals (i.e. Oxford Journals, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Ecological Economics, Review of European Economic Policy), while also being able to communicate complex ideas into accessible language for non-specialist audiences - is regular blogger and has published in well known newspapers (i.e. FT, FT Alphaville, Guardian, Huffington Post, New Statesman, Open Democracy). Proven experience of directly impacting policy, having authored several papers and policy reviews that have influenced policy at the UK Treasury, Bank of England, ECB, the European Commission and various political parties. Having provided various tv/radio interviews (i.e. BBC, Sky News, LBC) and given numerous presentations at acclaimed international events, is an excellent presenter and communicator. With excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship management skills, runs a variety of high level policy based coalitions and is an exceptional fundraiser.
