ABOUT FRANK STEINERT
With tremendous contributions of our roughly 700 talented and passionate HR professionals on “Team Regions”, I have the privilege to oversee the HR operations across our more than 70 countries for Henkel’s current, prospective, and past employees. Our tasks within the countries span from employer branding; talent acquisition, learning, and development; diversity, equity, and inclusion; to total rewards and payroll. As HR professionals @Henkel, we jointly help to preserve and continuously evolve our precious Henkel culture, which is – besides the power of “good leadership” more broadly – one of my very own passions. Why is this? Times change, strategies change, environments change. But what I believe never changes is the critical importance of listening attentively and with empathy; believing in good intent; developing and motivating others and empower individuals and teams; buying into the power of collaboration and co-creation and demonstrating it; being humble and embracing the fact that you very rarely are the smartest person in the room; resiliency, integrity, and acting as an entrepreneur. Amongst other things, these attributes help to become a “good leader”, and these aspects I do love! Personally, I get tons of energy and motivation out of our super diverse workforce across our Regions APAC; North America; Latin America, IMEA; Europe; and Germany/Switzerland, and the different qualities and backgrounds our teams bring to work on a daily basis. Why is a diverse culture so important to me? I began to experience first-hand the tremendous power of a diverse culture when we moved in 2008 from Germany to New York. Seeing my kids and family grow up, interact with, and learn from friends, classmates and teachers, and from colleagues coming from all different parts of the world with different languages, ethnicities, skin colors, believes, religions - you name it - was a gift, and it’s gratifying and rewarding to see how this rich experience and exposure over one and a half decades in the US has formed us sustainably, individually and as a family. Aside from my Regional tasks, together with our esteemed CHRO and the Global HR Leadership team, I have been given the opportunity to create and shape our Global HR Priorities and Strategies. All in all, I would consider myself as being an open-minded and people-centric HR leader. I take pride in successfully navigating different cultures, backgrounds, and viewpoints, and I have succeeded in driving change, organically, but also disruptively, in particular in well-established environments.
