Whether it’s my family, my coworkers, or the kids I coach in sports, I naturally look out for the people around me. That same instinct drives my career in cybersecurity — protecting organizations, systems, and the people who depend on them. Today, I serve as Director of Information Security for the Palmer Family of Companies (G&C Food Distributors, Palmer Food Service, and The Palmer Direct to You Market). In this role, I lead cybersecurity strategy, governance, and risk management — building a strong security culture in an industry that hasn’t traditionally made cybersecurity a priority. My career began as co-owner of an IT support company right out of college, but the foundation of my professional journey was built during 15+ years as Director of IT at G&C Food Distributors. During this time, I guided technology strategy, operations, and innovation before transitioning in January 2024 into my current role, where my focus turned fully toward cybersecurity leadership and enterprise-wide resilience. I’m strategic, collaborative, and detail-oriented, but above all, I’m people-focused. Looking ahead, I’m preparing to step into a CISO role where I can continue strengthening security cultures, guiding organizations through evolving risks, and mentoring the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
