I\'ve held a certified law-enforcement officer position in Virginia since 2017, commencing my career with the Hampton Police Division. My experience includes patrol duties and a specialized role in their Robbery Detail for four months. In 2019, I transitioned to the Williamsburg Police Department, serving as an Investigator specializing in narcotics and major crimes. Since 2020, I\'ve been a valuable member of the York-Poquoson Sheriff\'s Office, contributing my expertise to the patrol division and fulfilling the role of Field Training Officer. In December 2023, I earned a promotion to the rank of Sergeant, assigned to the Patrol Division.

   In my role as a Sergeant in uniform patrol at the York-Poquoson Sheriffs Office, I oversee the assignment of patrol areas, deliver daily event summaries, manage case management, conduct body camera assessments, and ensure the deputies under my supervision uphold a high standard of professionalism, delivering an exemplary law enforcement experience to the citizens of York County. I serve as one of the sergeants at YPSO involved in the Field Training Officer program. My responsibilities include ensuring that trainees are completing all required tasks, acquiring the necessary skills, and reviewing daily observation reports to monitor their progress. Additionally, I oversee the relationship between the trainee and the FTO, ensuring a strong connection that fosters a positive and productive learning environment. Once the FTO determines that a trainee is ready for independent patrol, it becomes my responsibility to ride with the trainee for one shift to evaluate and confirm their readiness for independent patrol duties.
