As the CEO of Compass Bioinformatics, I lead a team of experienced AI engineers, software developers, bioinformaticians, commercial sales leaders and clinical genetics professionals in providing generative-Al and machine learning (ML)-based bioinformatics platforms and services to analyze complex next-generation sequencing data for rare and inherited disorders. With offices in Hsinchu, Taiwan; Tokyo, Japan; and Austin, Texas, we serve patients and customers in the biotech, research, and medical/clinical arenas.I have a strong background in medicine, having completed my residency in Family Medicine and fellowship in Clinical Molecular Genetics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. I also hold a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and a Biodesign degree from Stanford University. My passion is to leverage my expertise in AI, ML, and bioinformatics to transform patient care through advanced genomic and molecular technologies. I have served as the Group Chief Medical Officer at Prenetics, a leading genomics and precision oncology company that recently acquired ACT Genomics, the only Asia-based company to receive FDA clearance, where I served as interim CEO. Over the last 20 years, I’ve held leadership roles at leading companies such as Roche, Illumina, QIAGEN, Guardant and Everly Health.
