ABOUT FRANK NACCARATO

I was born and raised in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario to a traditional Italian family. I learned to be independent and responsible as early as the age of 10 when my father passed away leaving me and my three brothers to work together to support the family. At age 15, I took my first step towards what has become a lifelong aspiration: becoming a passionate and successful restaurateur. I moved to Edmonton at 17 years old and joined the McDonalds education process, which was considered to be one of the most advanced restaurant training programs for operating and management systems in the world. The technical skills that I learned at McDonalds still resonate in my operations today. Following that, I worked in management positions at several Harvey\'s and Swiss Chalet locations in Alberta, supervising the opening of new locations. In 1989, while taking the Dale Carnegie Human Relations course, I was taught that the only things you will get out of life are the things that you really want; if you don’t get them, it is only because you didn’t really want them. I resolved to achieve my goal of owning my own restaurant by the age of 30. In November 1992, my family and I moved to Victoria, BC, in order to take advantage of a franchise opportunity for a Moxie\'s location. We opened the doors of our first restaurant on February 3, 1993, just a month before my 30th birthday. After this initial success, I went on to own multiple Moxie\'s franchises in Victoria, Nanaimo, and Campbell River. In 2013, I moved on from Moxie\'s and opened up Frankie\'s Modern Diner in Nanaimo, BC. The retro diner features fresh and local Italian influenced comfort food. When the opportunity arose to move Frankie\'s Modern Diner to Victoria, I was excited for the opportunity to move closer to my family and friends.
