ABOUT FRANK KASPAR
I would describe myself as a proud husband, father, grandfather, architect, artist, business owner, volunteer, coach, mentor and a loyal friend to many. Born in what was once Czechoslovakia, a culture rich in arts, history and traditions, I was exposed to creative exploration, a hard honest work ethic, the concept of always learning and that family matters. It is these mantras that have always given me the strength to pursue my dreams and goals and eventually my family and career life. I was blessed to be granted the opportunity to teach at a art college at an early stage of my career development, to be a part of the Kananaskis/Olympic development team, and to eventually find a path to architecture.I believe creativity comes in many forms and is seeded in each and every one of us which can be expressed in many forms, it just needs to be released. As the design lead and international development architect at my firm of over 30 years, I derive inspiration not only from nature but through the exposure to many worldwide experiences. As an amateur sports volunteer of over 30 years and supporter of various charities, I have learned the importance of listening, appreciating, and supportive mentoring. I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm of young people, and I am proud to have personally, in my office, mentored many young architectural graduates many of whom went on to become registered architects and leaders in their chosen field.Architecture is more than just a task of creating a building, it’s a spirited community of professionals and non-professionals that come together with a single focus to achieve something special.
