ABOUT FRANK FERRICK NOKAM WAFFO
I am a process engineer working as a deputy technical plant manager in a waste oil refinery, with primary responsibility for emulsion treatment and wastewater treatment processes involved in base oil production.I recently completed a Master’s degree in Process Engineering and Energy Technology in Germany, with a thesis focused on the development of a control system for oil–water interface detection using capacitance sensing in a waste treatment plant. During this work, I designed control logic using an Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1400 PLC and integrated digital and analog VEGA sensors.Prior to this, I gained international industrial experience at Globecore PC in Ukraine, where I worked on projects related to used oil regeneration and refinery equipment. I was involved in customer projects from technical specification through commissioning, acting as an interface between engineering, clients, and suppliers.In my current role, I work with BFDs, PFDs, and P & IDs, contribute to process and safety-related optimizations, support automation and instrumentation decisions, and evaluate chemical and equipment safety during operation, particularly in relation to hazardous substances (Gefahrstoffe) and wastewater regulations in Germany and the Hamburg region.
