I lead on international trade issues for BSI, the UK\'s national standards body, including developing a dedicated trade policy function to respond to emerging UK trade policy and the application of new trade agreements. A particular focus of my work is assessing how the UK\'s exit from the European Union will affect the technical standards that are used for regulatory compliance and the wider quality infrastructure system in the UK. Overall I work to ensure that the interests of UK stakeholders in standards development are understood and supported by UK government within the multilateral WTO trading system and in future bilateral trade agreements.
