Assist 11 Mountain Division hospitals to obtain appropriate reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid programs by analyzing new service opportunities. Responsible to assure hospitals understand data requirements for Medicare cost reporting and accounting. Serves as a resource to hospital and the Division Office operations for reimbursement and government program questions. May require visiting hospitals to gather information related to 855 filings, provider based attestations, site of service Master file maintenance, training new finance employees on exhibit preparation, assisting with monthly close process, assisting hospitals with budget preparation of contractuals, and meetings with MAC and state auditors. Will attend state Medicaid meetings and other task force meetings as a representative of HCA and/or the hospitals within the particular state. Keep apprised of Medicaid reimbursement policy and insure any state survey or application used to distribute Medicaid DSH and/or Supplemental payments is filed accurately and timely. Perform feasibility analysis and/or due diligence related to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement for syndication\'s, purchase/sales and mergers of hospitals, establishment of skilled nursing facilities and establishment of distinct part units. Implement or coordinate the implementation of third party accounting system and ensure it is maintained and identify documentation necessary for completion of annual cost report for all new hospitals.Provide hospital management teams with education related to new inpatient units and other outpatient entities. Coordinate geographic reclassification\'s along with the filing of Provider Based Attestations. Evaluate profitability of hospital operations and single service lines. Communicate with the Reporting Directors and coordinate any changes in operations that could have a material effect on conversion factors. Assist hospital and Division CFO in review of contractual adjustment budgets.
