ABOUT FRANÇOIS-YANICK BOURASSA

Hi, I’m François-Yanick Bourassa — also known as FYB. I help teams turn cloud economics into business value by building the culture and governance that make FinOps work. With over 30 years of experience — 22 as a developer and 9 in cloud management and FinOps — I bring both technical depth and strategic vision. Today, I work as a Data Scientist in FinOps, where I transform complex usage data into actionable insights. I also act as a FinOps Coordinator, bridging our Customer Experience (CX) organization (with their CRM cloud solutions) and Global Cloud Infrastructure & Delivery (GCID), which governs cloud management across the company. This unique position allows me to align day-to-day engineering with financial discipline, governance, and sustainable growth. Beyond the numbers, I dedicate much of my time to coaching teams on FinOps practices and tools, helping engineers, product owners, finances, and managers embed financial awareness into their workflows. At the same time, I remain an eternal storyteller — from writing code as stories in my developer years to sharing insights today through reports, papers, and LinkedIn posts. And as an AI whisperer, I explore how artificial intelligence can elevate FinOps — from anomaly detection and forecasting to creative ways of engaging teams. What drives me is making complexity actionable — turning data into insights, insights into guidance, and guidance into impact. If you’re as passionate as I am about FinOps, cloud economics, or AI, I’d love to connect.
