Establishing the work programme for internal and external standards management within the Rolls Royce SMR engineering team- Develop and maintain processes for the selection and control of International Standards used within Rolls-Royce SMR- Control and manage the authoring of bespoke internal standards ensuring they are fit for purpose- Provide tools and advice on best practice in writing standards and SMART requirements- Manage access and provision of standards to over 500 engineers- Provide in-house advice and oversight on application of standards and its integration with system engineering processes and product development- Develop the framework to for design engineers to demonstrate compliance to standards in collaboration with requirements management and V&V- Interface and manage stakeholders such as regulators, suppliers and internal stakeholders on all issues concerning standards application and governance

I am an experienced Chartered Engineer and Technical Regulatory specialist in Rail and I am now transferring that experience into the Civil Nuclear energy sector for development of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). Experience in the application of system engineering techniques particularly concerning requirements management, V&V and assurance. First hand experience of leading design and safety assurance/verification activities including through implementation of quality management based approaches. Practical experience across all stages of product development from R&D, bids, right through to delivery with responsibility for managing resources for my scope of works. Experience obtained both in the UK and Internationally- Engineering Standards Lead for the development of Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactor- Successfully managed Certification & Authorisation activities to obtain UK and EU regulatory approvals for UK passenger rail vehicles- Well versed in managing relationships and engaging with the rail stakeholders and government institutions (at a GB national level, European and International level). I have represented my organisations directly in cross-industry committees and working groups and I have extensive experience of bridging the gap between regulatory obligations and engineering requirements- At ALSTOM/Bombardier I was recognised as a \"World Class Expert\" in the field Design Assurance and Certification- Strong knowledge of European policy concerning the \"Single European Rail Area\" and \"Product Conformity Assessment\"​- Author of national rail standards concerning GB Route Compatibility standard - RIS-8270-RST issue one- Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET)
