Francis Hyatt is Executive Vice President and Chief Community Investments & Sustainability Officer of Liberty Mutual Insurance. In his role leading the Office of Community Investments & Sustainability, Francis champions Liberty as a force for good – playing our part in leading the transition to a more sustainable world while supporting and investing in those most vulnerable. As part of his work to advance the climate transition, he works to ensure that sustainability is integrated into the company’s commercial, retail and investments businesses. He spearheads multiple climate initiatives, including the company’s greenhouse gas emissions reductions, the Liberty Mutual Climate Transition Center, global climate education, and a robust reporting and disclosures program.Francis also stewards the company’s philanthropic and community investments strategy ensuring that Liberty’s core capabilities, expertise and assets are leveraged to drive greater employee engagement and community impact. Through the Liberty Mutual Foundation, corporate and employee giving, Liberty and its employees have, since its inception, donated nearly $1 billion to communities most in need. Impressively, Liberty Mutual has been named to The Civic 50—the fifty most community-minded companies in the nation—for the past five consecutive years.For more than 30 years, Francis has helped shape a wide range of leadership and workforce strategies at Liberty. Prior to becoming Chief Community Investments & Sustainability Officer in 2025, he served as Liberty’s first Chief Sustainablity Officer from 2019, and also previously led the company’s global talent and total rewards programs.Francis serves on the board of Lazarus House Ministries in his family’s hometown of Lawrence, Massachusetts and is also on the board and chairs the investment committee of Boston Healthcare for the Homeless. In addition, he is an active member of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, where he chairs the Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting Advisory Board and is a member of the Corporate Eco Forum.Francis holds a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, a Bachelor of Science in Business from Bentley University and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
