About Francisco Tovar

As a Reservoir Engineer at Occidental I am focused on simultaneously maximizing underground CO2 sequestration, incremental oil recovery and value generation of our US assets. To do this, I leverage my experience of years of work on research and implementation of enhanced oil recovery processes, and the decades-long expertise and know-how of Occidental in CO2 EOR. We are hard at work formulating the questions and finding the answers that move us every time closer to providing carbon neutral affordable energy to power our every day lives, and to assist other industries in decarbonizing their operations.    I work on the design of future projects and the optimization of existing ones related to Carbon Sequestration and Enhanced Oil Recovery processes. In this role I select suitable reservoirs, forecast injection and production and work in a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Geoscientists to properly design infrastructure, drilling and other well-work needs, estimate capital costs and projects economics with the goal of simultaneously maximizing economic returns, carbon dioxide sequestration and incremental oil recovery.
