ABOUT FRANCIS AMENG

Francis earned his PharmD degree at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (UFCOP) in Gainesville, FL. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida where he majored in Biology and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in 2020. He decided to pursue a career in pharmacy because he wants to use his clinical knowledge to advocate for polypharmacy patients and ease their therapy burden where clinically appropriate.Some of his notable school organization involvements included being a UFCOP Student Ambassador, P1 Lead Skills Lab TA, and President of the Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Honor Society. He strived to stay active in student organizations and volunteered in the community. Francis frequently volunteered at Equal Access Clinic, a local clinic that provides healthcare for the underserved population of Gainesville. He also helped organize point-of-care testing events at local farmers\' markets to provide free blood glucose tests and blood pressure screenings. In addition to his involvement in school, he has previous community pharmacy experience as a CVS Pharmacist Intern (2+ years), he completed a community IPPE rotation at Publix (Summer 2022), and he completed a hospital IPPE rotation at TGH (Summer 2023). He worked at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) as an inpatient hospitalist intern from July 2022 to June 2025. At TGH, Francis worked in an interprofessional team to conduct patient interviews, complete medication histories & reconciliations, and document pertinent patient notes on Epic EHR. Also, through his time at TGH, he was trained to complete Renal Dose Adjustments, Warfarin Monitoring & Adjustments, Vancomycin Monitoring & Adjustments, and Delirium Assessments. Francis is excited to continue his pharmacy journey as a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at Tampa General Hospital for the 20••••26 year.
