I manage multiple platforms for Yahoo News through the U.S. overnight and into the early morning, providing a smooth handoff to the morning desk managers in New York City.• I ensure the Top Stories section of the flagship Yahoo News app is fully updated for morning readers in the U.S. and shows them the news they need to know to start their day.• This involves writing and editing sharp, succinct summaries of articles from publishers such as ABC News, USA Today, and the Washington Post, as well as Yahoo News own content, and monitoring live metrics to make data-driven editorial decisions.• I am the main morning editorial point of contact for Yahoo News’ relationship with the New York Times, and I work with their licensing team daily to select the best of their content for our users under the terms of our publishing deal.• I monitor and respond to breaking news, ensuring accurate and informative push alerts and homepage banners are published quickly and efficiently. • I edit Yahoo\'s The Yodel newsletter and send it out to an audience of millions three days a week.• I edit the Yahoo News homepage and our pop-up news portals, such as our coronavirus and 2020 election hubs, as well as the main Yahoo U.S. front page, as needed.
