Responsible for developing, assessing, and managing the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance and Privacy Program, ensuring they are properly structured and have sufficient resources.Identify best practices and implement them as appropriate throughout the organization.Chair the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Committee. Provide detailed reports on issues/violations to senior management and the board of directors, ensuring timely and accurate communication.Initiate, conduct, and monitor all compliance, patient privacy, and civil rights investigations. Initiate, track, and monitor corrective action plans for compliance and privacy investigations, and other regulatory audits.Monitor/respond to the regulatory environment. Research and monitor state and national legislation, and revise/create education, new standards, and policies and procedures as required to respond to regulatory change and work to prepare the organization for change.Conducts and coordinates all compliance investigations and audits, including but not limited to Stark, AKS, and other state/federal healthcare laws and regulations.Facilitate and oversee the development/revision of compliance and privacy policies, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Ensure effective communication of these policies to all workforce members.Promote an environment in which employees feel safe to report instances of non-compliance confidentially and without fear of retaliation. Ensure the numerous ways to report advertised throughout the organization. Provides direction and management of the compliance Hotline.Perform annual Compliance and HIPAA risk assessments. Identify opportunities for targeted risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and the development of the Annual Compliance Work Plan.Oversee all compliance education efforts to ensure staff and vendors know their compliance obligations.Conduct Compliance Exit Interviews with staff before leaving the organization.
