I\'m at my best when there\'s nothing there yet. No team, no facility, no process, just a problem that needs all three built simultaneously. I enjoy the chaos of bootstrapping: the first hire, the first procedure written on a whiteboard, the first time a new team runs an operation cleanly. At Orbex I did exactly that. As VP AIT I built the Assembly, Integration and Test organisation for Prime, a small orbital launch vehicle, from scratch. That meant designing the integration and manufacturing process, writing the procedures, commissioning the facilities, specifying the ground support equipment, and building a multidisciplinary team with the safety culture and discipline that flight hardware demands. All of it started from zero. Before Orbex: launch operations, AIT, propulsion and systems work at Avio, Argotec and DLR covering launch vehicles, solid and liquid propulsion, and satellite integration. Over a decade in the space domain, always on the side of the programme where things are being built, tested and launched.
