ABOUT FRANCESCO PANTANO

Professor of Medical Oncology with extensive experience in clinical, translational, and academic oncology, specializing in solid tumors with a strong focus on breast cancer and bone metastases. Currently serving as Full Professor of Medical Oncology at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, I hold multiple leadership roles including Director of the Integrated Program for Research, Diagnosis, and Care of Bone Metastases, Head of the Osteoncology Center, and Director of the Residency Program in Palliative Medicine. I also act as a key clinical reference for the Breast Cancer Unit and Co-Head of the Translational Oncology Laboratory. My work integrates clinical care, research, and education, with a particular emphasis on multidisciplinary management of complex oncologic patients. Over the years, I have contributed to advancing the understanding and treatment of bone metastases and breast cancer through both clinical activity and translational research. I have held academic positions ranging from Researcher to Associate Professor before becoming Full Professor, and I have been actively involved in international research experiences, including a fellowship at INSERM (Lyon, France). I also contribute to doctoral training programs and scientific boards in biomedical sciences and bioethics. My goal is to bridge clinical oncology and research innovation to improve patient outcomes and develop more effective, personalized therapeutic strategies.
