Following a career in editing, I now write.My most recent work is the memoir Too Deep for Tears published to Kindle, May 2016: a not-for-profit work, with the aim of setting up a trust fund in memory of Gregory Nield-Fielding, my first child. Available as a paperback via Amazon in 2017. My first attempt at fiction, a short story, was highly commended in the July 2010 issue of Writers\' Forum; and my first attempt at poetry received an honorable mention in the July 2012 Goodreads poetry competition. I had a short story,\"An Echo of Distant Footsteps\" in the November 2010 issue of Prima. I also won the Christmas 2010 Flash Fiction competition run by the Writers Bureau. I have been published in the Reader\'s Digest, Woman, Prima, Grazia, Woman\'s Own, Best, the Daily Mirror, Business Update (Cheshire) and the Knutsford Guardian. I have written a word memoir about the life and unexpected death of our first, disabled child, after four days on life support. During this time he was under the care of Carys Bannister OBE, the first female consultant neurosurgeon to qualify in the UK - who I first met at this, the most traumatic time of my life.
