Bbc Partnership Shadowing Scheme National Short Story Award @BBC

Cambridge has partnered with the BBC for seven years to administer the National Short Story Awards; this Shadowing Scheme gives access and insight into the pleasures and practicalities of arts partnerships, opening up new ways of thinking about how to communicate research. Supported by the Faculties of English and Education, the Schools of Arts and Humanities and Humanities and Social Sciences, Cambridge ESRC DTP, the Fitzwilliam Museum, the University Library, the Institute of Continuing Education, and Downing and Robinson Colleges. The Awards Steering Group, which consists of members of all of those stakeholders plus colleagues at the BBC, is administering this Shadowing Scheme.This role has involved judging/sifting in the early stages of the NSSA (March—April 2024, 2025), attending the BBC/Cambridge Steering Committee Meeting (10th July 2024, 4th June 2025), assisting the radio production of one of the YWA stories at the Broadcasting House (9th August 2024, editing meeting 12th August 2024), attending the BBC Awards Ceremony (1st October 2024, 30th September 2025), and participation in a workshop on creative writing and academic partnerships (14th January 2024). Same for 2025.
