ABOUT FRANCESCA VANTAGGIATO

BIO: Francesca Vantaggiato is the founder and artistic director of Visionär Film Festival Berlin | Mainz – Encounters with New Talents, est. 2017 in Berlin and 2019 in Mainz. Since its beginning, she curated several Satellite events at different venues in Berlin, Madrid and Apulia. In 2019 she created and curated the section Kino Sonico - a multimedia event dedicated to re-interpret and re-discover silent and experimental films from the past century through contemporary music. For about two years (July 2021 - June 2023), she has been working as Sales and Festival Manager & Acquisitions at ArtHood Entertainment GmbH. She took a Bachelor in Communication Studies/Media at the University in Lecce. In 2006 she moved to Rome to complete her school career with a Master in Communication and Cultural Production at the LUMSA University and a Post-graduate course in Marketing and Communication of the Events at Ateneo Impresa. At LUMSA University she volunteered as editor and assistant of the workshop \"Lezioni d\'Autore\", and as editor of the book of Emilio Lonero \"Lezioni d\'Autore 6\". Since 2009 she has collaborated as cultural journalist for several magazines, Taxidrivers.it – a magazine about independent cinema – among the others. As a correspondent, she attended the most prestigious international film festival. In 2012 she moved to Berlin where she also worked as a press office at Lakino and festivals coordinator at the Coproduction Office. PROFILE: Sales and Festival Manager - Acquisitions, Film Festival Curator, Cultural Event Organizer and Communication Expert. Specialist in international sales and festivals strategy, the preparation for international film festivals and markets, as well as coordinating the creation of promotional materials, and acquiring new films. Experienced with all stages in the realization of an event, from concept creation to development, in addition to team management, PR strategy and sponsorship. Well-versed in communications and journalistic writing with a strong background in artistic direction and festival management.
