ABOUT FRANCESCA REASON
An Associate in the Birketts LLP Regulatory and Corporate Defence Team based in the Ipswich office. Prior to qualifying in September 2021 I sat training seats in our Construction and Engineering Team followed by Property Litigation and Regulatory Corporate Defence.I have worked on significant health and safety regulatory matters, conducting on-site accident investigations in conjunction with the team’s consultants and have supported clients in the aftermath of disasters and fatalities. For the last two years, I have been working on the team responsible for representing a core participant to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and have a focus in public inquiry law.Following my involvement in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, I have developed a particular expertise in fire and building safety law and advise clients in relation to the new Building Safety Act 2022 and Fire Safety Act 2021 and the landmark changes that these pieces of legislation will effect.I also have experience of dealing with private criminal defence matters and representing individuals in the magistrates court.I studied my undergraduate degree alongside a full-time career in Marketing, Crisis PR and Business Development and graduated with a first class honors in 2019. I completed my Masters in 2021 specialising in and writing my dissertation on the inter-relationship between Criminal and Public Inquiry Law.
